What is it about?
The setting is Australia and some great catastrophe has taken place. Some bandits have escaped from a shootout and get their truck stuck. They steal Guy Pearce's car and keep moving. Guy gives chase after getting the truck out of the spot it's stuck. When the bandits stop they tell Pearce that he can't have his car back and knock him out. Robert Pattinson is the brother of one of the bandits who was left behind because they thought him dead. He finds Pearce and the truck. Guy forces the brother to help him track down the bandit gang.
You will like it if...
You like slow developing gritty dramas. Much of the material in this movie is dry and slow moving. A lot of the movie could have been left on the cutting room floor. The music track selections throughout the movie give an odd feel to the setting, and many times they don't make any sense at all. Pattinson singing Keri Hilson is one example. Guy Pearce gives a strong gritty performance that will be overlooked by many who skip this film. Pattinson also gives a decent performance, but his accent could have used some work. He sounded more like an American hick than someone from Australia. The script doesn't even try to tie up any loose ends or explain too much of what is happening. It's simply about the journey of the two main characters. Guy Pearce's performance makes it worth seeing if you are interested, but this one will be available at Redbox sooner rather than later. You might want to wait for that.
